TROY The annual Veterans Memorial Service was held in Riverside Cemetery on Saturday in Troy, honoring those who have served.Opening remarks and introductions of speakers present were delivered by Tom Sutherin, of American Legion Post 43, followed by an invocation delivered by Robert Speck, of VFW Post 5436.Those present stood to observe the raising of the flag during the national anthem, and then received an address by Mayor Michael Beamish, who attends every year to honor those that served.not missed a Veterans Day memorial service in 14 years, said Mayor Michael Beamish, of the event.
