Esquema del trayecto que sigue una seal astronmica captada por una antena de ALMA. En un primer momento, la seal es recibida por la antena, para luego pasar por el Front End, enfriado por criogenizacin a 4 Kelvin, donde se reduce su frecuencia. Luego la seal es digitalizada por el Back End y transmitida por fibra ptica hasta el edificio central, donde el correlacionador combina la seal de todas las antenas.
“There almost seemed to be a feel that if we stopped this (Pinewood School transition), we could stop the growth of our community to be inclusive of all cultures,” said DAARN co chair Beth Queau. “I think it really pointed out to a lot of people in the community that feel Dryden should be inclusive and why aren we? I think it made those people stop and think because a lot of people didn realize the other feelings in the community, from their neighbours and their friends. It was a kind of moment for a lot of people.”DAARN members found through anecdotal conversations that although First Nations people represent the largest identifiable cultural minority in Dryden, the hesitation to accept cultural diversity extended beyond the familiar dyad to a hesitance toward many differences.After a public showing of CBC documentary The 8th Fire, DAARN incorporated in October, aiming to create arenas in which Drydenites could learn about each other perspectives.”Through sharing, the truth comes out and knowledge improves,” explained co chair Patty Vann.
“We recognized, as this administration, that growth was inevitable because our schools were so strong and because of our location to the jobs in Research Park and Redstone Arsenal. People were asking for a managed growth plan and kind of a vision of how we get there,” said Finley. “We still desperately trying to keep up with that wonderful growth, but I think that folks are seeing that we are staying focused.”.
